As a Permanency Supervisor for the State of Delaware, Karen Wilson has been a tireless advocate for children in foster care waiting for adoptive famiies. In 2004, Ms. Wilson was recognized for her work when she received the Nancy McKenna Awared from Adoptive Families with Information and Support. Being presented with such an award demonstrates Ms. Wilson's intense dedication and commitment to children. Ms. Wilson, who began working at the Delaware Division of Family Services in 1985, has become widely known and respected in her community. She supervises Alternative Permanent Planned Living Arrangement caseloads, and has served children and families as a foster home care coordinator supervisor. As a direct result of her involvement, six of the seven high school graduates under her supervision this year will be attending college with the assistance of financial aid and scholarships. Ms. Wilson is also a member of the Permanency Committee for the Division of Family Services and sits on the Timeline to Adoption Subcommittee of the Child Protection Accountability Commission.
