Make a Difference
People Who Make a Difference
Angels in Adoption™
There are many ways to make a difference in the lives of foster children, orphans, and abandoned children in the United States and around the world, and every year since 1999, the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute has recognized "ordinary people doing extraordinary things" through its Angels in Adoption™ awards. Read about the Angels in Adoption™ initiative, recipients, and their "extraordinary" contributions.
How You Can Make a Difference
We are regularly contacted by people who are touched by adoption and want to know what they can do to "give back". Here are several ways you can make a difference through the Adoption.com family of Web sites:
- Submit Content - Submit articles, news, book reviews, personal stories, book chapters, poems, and other content to be published on the Adoption.com Web sites and in the AdoptionWeek e-magazine.
- Host a Topical Chat, Forum or Email Discussion List - For more information on hosting a regular, adoption-related topical chat hour through AdoptionChat.com, a forum (message board) through AdoptionForums.com, or an email discussion support group through AdoptionLists.com, contact info@adoption.com.
- Become a Foster Parent - Contact your local state child welfare organization about how you can become a foster parent.
- Make a Donation or Get Involved in Other Great Causes - We encourage you to support causes that support children and adoption. Some of our favorite organizations include:
- Project Cuddle
- National Court Appointed Special Advocate Association (CASA)
- Children With AIDS Project of America
- The National Center for Adoption Law and Policy
- Half the Sky
- The Alliance Defense Fund
- Shaohannahs Hope
- Link to Adoption.com from your Web site
- Recommend Adoption.com to a Friend
