Jimmie and Alesia Hunious became foster parents in 1997. Since that time, they have provided a safe and loving home to children. The Junious family has worked in collaboration with the Urban League of Rochester, New York, and the biological families to understand and maintain permanency for children in their care. In doing so, they have become adoptive parents to many of their foster children who were freed for adoption. They are a committed family, who have involved their birth children and extended family members in the parental process for their adoptive children from the very first day each of the children were placed in their home as foster children. Since 1997, the Juniouses have fostered nine children and have adopted four. Jimmie and Alesia Junious are model foster and adoptive parents, who understand that parenting is not always easy, but who have committed themselves to opening their hearts and home to children in need. They have had an extraordinarily positive effect in the lives of the many children and families who been committed to their care since 1997.
