Michele Jordan
Angels in Adoption 2005 - Arizona
Selected by Senator Jon KylYou can see by her background that Michele Jordan has focused all of her efforts on children as opposed to herself. She has a background in both domestic and international adoption law. Michele received her J.D. from Notre Dame University and has been licensed to practice law in New Jersey since 1975 and Arizona since 1992. She closed her law practice so she could work with nonprofit organizations and agencies to benefit orphaned children throughout the world. Michele has taught adoption law to prospective adoptive parents, attorneys, and judges alike and has been an integral part of hundreds of domestic and international adoptions throughout her career. She travels to U.S. military bases around the world, scheduling seminars and speaking to overseas personnel and families encouraging them to adopt local orphans. Last year, she traveled to the UK, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Belgium, and Japan. Gifts from individuals and organizations with whom she works help Michele provide aid (clothing, food, toys, books, and medical assistance) to children in orphanages. Michele coordinates adoption programs in both Russia and Ukraine and works closely with the program coordinators in China, Guatemala, and Nepal. For Michele, doing this work is all about her passion for children and their futures: "Every child deserves a loving and permanent family and I am blessed to be a part of that process."
