Larry Goldzband and Kathleen Diebert

Angels in Adoption 2005 - California

Selected by Representative Ellen Tauscher

Kathleen and Larry are the very proud parents of Benjamin Jack - now an active, curious, happy, and healthy 22 month old! Dad Larry has a graduate degree in Business from Northwestern University and is the Charitable Contributions Manager for a major public utility in California. Mom Kathleen received her law degree from the University of Santa Clara and is a coprporate office attorney for a large fitness company. The Goldzbands chose to work with an agency which offered open adoptions. Through the agency, they found a young woman interested in finding a great family for her unborn child. There were at least five other couples all hoping and willing to bring this child home. Larry and Kathleen were notified ten days before the birth that they were chosen to beome the parents. The couple's relaties helped with furniture and the other necessities to make the homecoming a truly special event. Benjamin Jack was named in a very traditional method. Larry's family has always used the initial of important family members for a new child. And Ben is no exception: as his birth mother's name begins with a "B," the Goldzbands chose the name Benjamin in respect and with thanks to her.
