Deborah Ann Borchers has dedicated her career and life to serving adopted children and the loving families who welcome the children into their homes. Debbie is continually giving to the cause of adoption, and nothing demonstrates her dedication more than her three daughters, Anna (12), Sara (9), and Krista (5), all adopted from China. After adopting her oldest daughter in 1994, Debbie realized the unique medical challenges that many adopting parents face. Since then, shse has focused her professional career on ensuring that families have all the information and care they need. Through her medical practice, Dr. Borchers provides support, guidance, and advice to parents who are adopting children from other countries. A pediatrician since 1987, Dr. Borchers is a founding member of the Section on Adoption and Foster Care, a subset of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Locally, she helped create Families with Children from China, a group that has grown to more than 300 families. Debbie is a nationally acclaimed speaker and published author on issues relating to international adoption. Through her private life and public work, Dr. Borchers is a shining example of an Angel in Adoption.
